2020 for us is framing up to be another jam-packed year full of festivals, familiar stages, new cities, and maybe even a visit or two to the recording studio... How's your 2020 looking? 📸 @jamesmcphersonphotography
Flash back to last year when we shared an impromptu busking moment with our good mates (@piercebrothersmusic) to celebrate the release of Stolen Diamonds. Full video on Youtube
Happy Birthday to Ross Irwin of The Empire Horns! Not only can Ross play the lights out on trumpet, he can also recall movie lengths to the minute, and obscure movie cast members at the drop of a hat. He is a man of many talents. So much entertainment and amusement over the years. Party on Ross! 📸 @julielowe_photo_film
After a long hiatus from visiting Spain we walked on the stage at Razzmatazz to be hit with the biggest roar and ball of energy any crowd could possibly give us. Fans were singing every lyric, melody and horn line the entire show, on many occasions drowning out the sound of the band with their cheers. That night will stay with me forever. Jumps
The first time we played Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, I was actually worried it would be our last, because from all reports Level 2 nearly collapsed due to everyone jumping up and down during The Chariot! Should’ve had more faith in this old stalwart of a venue though, as we have now gone on to play there 12 times...and counting! WHB
We are very proud to have partnered with @childrensground and want to encourage as many people as possible to go and see this incredible film In My Blood It Runs documentary... in Australian Cinemas from today. #Repost @childrensground “Dujuan came to a situation where there were two roads: One road to family and one road to jail. And he walked down the road to family." @childrensground chairperson William Tilmouth has walked alongside families in Central Australia for more than 30 years. He knows what challenges they face: how school for Dujuan and many First Nations children in the Northern Territory makes them leave their identity, their language, and culture at the door. And often sets them up to fail, as @inmyblooditruns shows us. @childrensground was designed with families, Elders and educators to create a path to a different future. Learning on country, in First Language, integrated with health and wellbeing, creative arts and governance - all done in a way that works for and with First Nations families. Help us make Dujuan's wish a reality: to attend a school led by, and for, Aboriginal people.
