I was in such a sour mood. ⁣

Here’s what went down. ⁣
We woke up really early to go to Erik’s basketball game. ⁣
⁣
I fed Faye. ⁣
I pumped. ⁣
My eyes hardly opened. ⁣
I got up 2-3 times last night. ⁣
I honestly can’t even remember how many times or for how long. ⁣
⁣
Erik’s game was great. ⁣
And then. ⁣
It hit. ⁣
⁣
Tired. ⁣
Moody. ⁣
Short. ⁣
⁣
We were on our way to church and I told Erik I didn’t want to go— I was just so tired and we were going to be late. ⁣
⁣
Erik got off on the exit anyway. ⁣
We were late anyway. ⁣
My heart was annoyed, but knew it was right. ⁣
⁣
We sat in church. ⁣
Erik rubbing my back the whole time. ⁣
Putting his hand on my leg. ⁣
We picked up my happy, smiley girl from her classroom. ⁣
⁣
We drove home. ⁣
I went straight to the couch. ⁣
My baby napped. ⁣
Erik and I sat. ⁣
⁣
And then I heard Kobe died. ⁣
Not just him, his daughter. ⁣
Not just them, but others. ⁣
⁣
Gutted. ⁣
I trust in Jesus. ⁣
I believe in heaven. ⁣
I also believe we miss out on a lot of blessings because we choose to be sour about things that don’t matter. ⁣
⁣
I love my family. ⁣
I love my family so much. ⁣
It’s so hard to comprehend how his mourning family is feeling, what they are thinking, and what they are doing. ⁣
⁣
Perspective is everything.⁣

And I said, "yeah...no...I don't. I really really love to run. But, for now...lifting will do."

Tonight in our group live coaching call, I talked about understanding intrinsic motivation, and trying to remember our "why." It's usually tough to remember our why when we're going through a time that isn't up to our expectations, or when working through a tough phase of life. But if you think about the last time you really failed at something you worked your ass for - then that's exactly why we keep believing and working at it.

For now, lifting has given me that feeling of progress that's been tough to feel with postpartum running. And that alone is why I continue to just show up. That and the dream that someday I'll be able to run long and fast again and feel healthy doing it. That day is coming!! But, for now, you can find me in here. #keepshowingup #sundaymood

Just want to clarify with everyone regarding my last post lol...I’m not suffering from HAIR LOSS or any serious condition. Praise God!! 🙏🏽 It was a post about POSTPARTUM HAIR LOSS. I no longer lose nearly the amount of hair I did at #3monthspostpartum through #6monthspostpartum 
Yea, sure, shedding happens but like a few hairs here and there lol

THIS KID😂 lol being this little boy’s mama✨ is the most challenging thing ive ever done, with the greatest reward.
some days, i feel like ive got this thing down - feeding, eating, playing, sleeping, maybe some cooking&cleaning or errands, now some sort of studying.
but most days, one of us doesn’t make it out of pajamas.
mommin is HARD.
staying home with baby is hard, but not as hard as when i tried to go back to work after 3 months :( i feel so so SO blessed to have this little boy and to be home with him right now, every single day. & nothing could fill my heart more 💙
starting my day with gratitude truly changes my perspective on the day and makes me a better mom, wife, and human being ✌🏻💕 have a grateful heart, friends, don’t waste your life on hateful or hurtful things. live in your joy! ✨

Phase 3 of MM100 starts for me tomorrow 🙈 & for once progress photos made me proud!! I have a 6 month old baby & wasn’t able to work out for most of my pregnancy w/ him due to a hernia. I started working out again in November & the program I’m doing has 5 phases.. the difference between end of phase 1 (Jan 1st) and end of phase 2 (today) is huge. This is FAR from my goal for my body but it’s DEF progress 👏🏼👏🏼 so for that I’m SO proud & I cannot wait to see the results at the end of this program 🔥 thank you MM100! 🤍💪🏼 #MamaBod #6MonthsPostpartum #MM100

Did a @blogilates full body workout today. I have forgotten how hard her workouts can be, but it was good. I also had a cute little workout buddy who made the whole thing go a little faster (until he got too tired and had a meltdown). Yesterday I joined my sister and her wedding party at the Bridal Show. Excitement in your journey!

No health and fitness journey is perfect, but when you start to see progress and you begin to feel more energized and stronger, everything is worth it!

I haven’t been this consistent in my health and fitness since the start of my pregnancy and to be honest...I’m glad it has taken me this long. I feel like I’m in a place where I really can focus on me and do what’s best for my health.

I have goals and I plan on reaching them no matter how long it takes me!

What’s been nice about this postpartum journey is that my smile has been genuine throughout. I did the work on the inside already. That doesn’t mean I don’t struggle or cry it out with the baby sometimes, but it does mean I’ve been happier and more okay with where I was the entire time.

Maybe because I had been through it before I knew that if I just kept doing the things I knew worked the progress would come. My hope for any new mama watching me is that instead of comparing you simply use my journey as inspiration for yours and PROOF that if you’re willing to make the small daily changes, move your body every day, and make yourself a priority even just for 30 minutes a day it’s possible for you too.

Yesterday was my first keep in touch day back at work (not officially back until 1st april). It was the longest that I've been away from my gorgeous boy but he had a fabulous time with his daddy (my husband). I didn't make time for any exercise yesterday as I just wanted to spend as much time with my baby boy before I went to work, and then before he went to sleep. So today I'm spent an hour to myself working out (whilst Finley was sleeping!)

The days were longer & the nights were even longer. I knew I had to make some changes. I made all of these excuses: 👉🏽I have a child under 1
👉🏽This is normal and my life now 👉🏽Everyone goes through this 👉🏽I have to wake up in the middle of the night to nurse (which is amazing fyi) 👉🏽I don’t even know where to start worrying about myself since I’m just so exhausted.

I started to make some serious changes in balancing my hormones, changed my diet, blue light exposure & kicked my brain fog by detoxing my home.

OR you could be shaking with dinky 3 pound weights in your hands!! Many of these programs I have people say “well, it looks so easy, I don’t think that’ll work.” Yeah, right. Try it with NO BREAKS!! This particular barre program is so fun and humbling for somebody used to lifting and jumping, like myself, and I’m so grateful to be able to add it in at no extra cost to myself, and a minimal time commitment since I can do it in my living room!

It didn’t take long for me to see it, but I must say I felt it in my gut first.

One twin is a performer and the other would rather enjoy the show.

I knew my little dude wasn’t going to continue coming to dance class and standing in the spotlight. It’s just not his jam, but he gave it a solid 3 year try.

Was I heartbroken?
Maybe a little.
Not because he didn’t want to do it, but because I would miss being his dance teacher and having that extra time with him.

What I love most about this is his honesty in speaking his truth and deciding it wasn’t for him, but not until giving it a very thorough test drive. He still comes along to watch Sadie on observation days and admits he misses her while she is at dance class, but he no longer misses the actual dance class.

One day he may want to be a performer or get in the spotlight in some way, but maybe he just doesn’t know how to approach it yet. I know the woman pictured in the middle danced on stages for 15 years, but now she finally feels the confidence to stand out. Honestly I feel I have found a way to shine all on my own.

It takes time to find who you are, what you are supposed to be, and how to not be afraid of being seen.

Whatever it is that brings you pure happiness and joy, do that. You don’t need a stage or music to be amazing. You shine through and through all on your own when you do what you love and love what you do.

Bitter sweet day! My baby boy is 6 months old. I love watching him grow but I hate how fast it’s passing me by. I made a lot of mistakes in my life and I still have no idea what I’m going half of the time but I do know that becoming a mother is the best thing I’ve ever done. I spend just about every second of every hour of every day with this boy and I never tire of being his mommy 
Baby Rhett loves butter nut squash, apples, pears, and green beans. He loves his books, music, his doggo, and being outside. And he love love loves to snuggle.

When I started this journey just over 3 years ago, I knew nothing! But I had clear goals {lose the baby weight & pay for daycare} and I was willing to learn. ⁣

So I went all in. I used the training, did the workouts, followed the easy meal plans. I met my original goals in the first few months and set new and bigger ones✨ ⁣

I figured out how to build a side business where I got in the best shape of my life and helped others do the same in 5 and 10 minute pockets after a work day and between having a new baby.⁣

Now after second baby I’m still a work in progress towards those abs on the right ☺️ but more confident than ever that I know how to guide others to 💪, a thriving business, and an incredible community!⁣

I’ve been wanting to do one of these forever because to me one of the BIGGEST elements of CrossFit is the community and camaraderie! .

I wanted to quit. .
I wanted to puke. . .
Every time I’d get in my head thinking “I’m going to die, I can’t do this!” I’d look over at Shannon and see her working and tell myself “You guys are in this together, just keep moving!”.

And guess what? I didn’t die and I didn’t puke! The Push Jerks felt awesome and I used 45lbs today! Thank you Shannon for suffering with me today! And thank you @crossfitargonaut for a horrible workout....I loved it!!! .

I never thought I’d be the one to struggle with Postpartum Depression. I have the best life ever. But I do. And I don’t like to talk about it, because, for some reason, it makes me feel less of a mother & less of a wife. .
.
When it hits, it’s debilitating. I feel like I can’t get my head above water and I’m drowning. My anxiety is sky high & my heart races. I feel like my to do list is a million miles high & overwhelm strikes. My house is a disaster. My toddler is dying for my attention. My infant needs to nurse again. I have a business to run. It’s never ending. .
.
But here’s what I’ve found:
Little sleep makes it so much worse. 
Having a schedule & routine helps tremendously. 
Exercising and eating healthy is my weapon. 
And prayer, devotions, & my Lord & Savior are my armor. .
.
It’s hard, mommas. Like, really hard. But if we arm ourselves to fight it, do the best we can, and take it day by day, God will pull us through. .
.
Just because you struggle, doesn’t make you less of a mother or wife. This is temporary. And I vow to myself to hold my babies closer, for longer, without worrying about everything “I have to do.” Because, tomorrow, they will be another day older. And soon, they won’t need me this much.

All da children were in the living room this morning while I did a cardio workout for 30 minutes. I said that I really didn’t want to get up and workout but I’ve trained my children 😂😂😂 so they said I had to!

So there I was dripping sweat in the middle of my living room just DYING 😓 and the kids are spread out all over the couch playing their Nintendo’s, and Bentley has been moved probably three times during my workout to be happy and content.

I had this moment where I thought to myself “I wonder how they see me?”
You know when you see those videos of kids talking about their mothers and you’re sobbing because it’s beautiful and you just can’t help but ugly cry through the whole thing?

Will they see me as strong?
Will they see me as not being a quitter even though I see myself like that most of the time?
Will they see through all the struggles I’ve been through and know I persevered?
Will they hate me for restricting how often we eat like crap, how often I push them to drink water “BECAUSE YOUR BODY NEEDS IT!” I finally pushed the thoughts out and in that moment had to remind myself that if I show up everyday for a year like I told them I would. They’ll see something.. something strong. That’ll do for now 💪💕🙌.

Booty booty booty... as I’ve mentioned before I’m off squats due to a back issue and aside from that, there are so many more exercises that you can perform to increase the derrière!!! Single leg glute bridges are SOLID but they’re so effective if you perform them correctly. Ensure your hips are tilted up to negate the arch in your back which would lead to a far lesser utilisation of the glutes. Activate and levitate.

I have all but lost the arse I took a year to build for my wedding dress after having the little one and missing so much gym time. So... bottoms up!!! 👊🏻💪🏻 Peach ahead 🍑 #nfb

When I started my breastfeeding journey, my goal was to make it 6 months. I’m proud to say we have made that.⠀

It wasn’t easy. Breastfeeding didn’t come naturally to me and it was a labor intensive struggle for the first 2 months. I didn’t give up. I fought and fumbled with nipple shields at every feeding. I turned my super smoothies into lactation boosting overnight oats. I focused hard on hydration. I worked pumping into my daily life even though I HATE PUMPING. ⠀

Now it seems like we are old pros, him and I. We both look forward to our quiet moments together. We appreciate the journey we have had. And hey, we made 6 months so why not push for 4-6 more? ⠀

We’ve got a 9am train to catch, I haven’t packed a thing for me or the baby, but I wanted to start my Saturday with a little something for ME! Took a killer 6am @onepeloton HIIT & Hills ride and now I feel ready to conquer the stress that goes along with traveling with a baby 🙃😂👍🏻 I’ll take a load of endorphins over coffee any day! (But I’d also like a very large coffee, please & thank you 😉!) Happy weekend!!

Zrobiłam to zdjęcie tuż przed wyjściem do szpitala. Oglądam je dosyć często, żeby pamiętać jak potężna robotę wykonało moje ciało i zaakceptować to, co przychodzi mi z trudnością - że się zmieniło. 
Nie sądziłam, że tak szybko zatęsknię za tym stanem. Nie pamiętam już bólu i niedogodności, pamietam, że były. I’m not the greatest at posting workout videos/pictures these days mainly because I just really don’t have the time. #momlife 💁🏼‍♀️🤱🏼 But @maxshawver23 and I do still get to the gym 5-6 days a week for an hour or so each time and we typically do some kind of weightlifting piece followed by a metcon. It’s nothing fancy and we are the ultimate cherry pickers, but it works for us! Dax comes with us too and we generally alternate holding him in between sets or he sleeps in his stroller. We’ve figured out a way to make it work...for now. I am sure it will change again as he continue to get older, but I know we’ll figure it out then too!

Hadley doesn’t know it yet, but tomorrow morning her favorite guy is going to be the one swooping her smiley little self out of her crib when she wakes up 🥰

Idk how single moms do it (you’re freaking AMAZING)— I’m in the middle of 1.5 months of being a solo parent 5 days a week while my husband has some business trips, and each day ends with me and the house looking like a hot mess 😅

I literally made a crockpot meal that I picked at all week because trying to cook for myself come 7pm is the most unappealing thing I’ve ever heard.

Idk what fruitcakes out there are having babies to SAVE their relationships 🤣 but adding one to ours has tested us in so many ways. Although distance is WAY more challenging, it is a great reminder of how important we both are to this equation and what each of us truly brings to the table.

I’ve never been more tired, happy, and forever thankful for this life of mine and the incredible people in it 💕 Going to soak up every minute of this time with our little family over these next 48 hours ☺️

Hadley doesn’t know it yet, but tomorrow morning her favorite guy is going to be the one swooping her smiley little self out of her crib when she wakes up 🥰 Idk how single moms do it (you’re freaking AMAZING)— I’m in the middle of 1.5 months of being a solo parent 5 days a week while my husband has some business trips, and each day ends with me and the house looking like a hot mess 😅 I literally made a crockpot meal that I picked at all week because trying to cook for myself come 7pm is the most unappealing thing I’ve ever heard. Idk what fruitcakes out there are having babies to SAVE their relationships 🤣 but adding one to ours has tested us in so many ways. Although distance is WAY more challenging, it is a great reminder of how important we both are to this equation and what each of us truly brings to the table. I’ve never been more tired, happy, and forever thankful for this life of mine and the incredible people in it 💕 Going to soak up every minute of this time with our little family over these next 48 hours ☺️

I’ve noticed that as I’m working through this 100 day program, my thunder thighs are becoming more and more toned and I’m feelin it!! I’ve always had a more muscular bottom half and that’s something that I’m proud of, and I’m happy to finally feel comfortable showing that at work 😉

I'm super proud of myself and how far I have come over the past 6 months not just physically but mentally. I used to be so hard on myself to look a certain way but now I am so happy in my own skin.
I used to flog my body in the gym and always restricting my eating but now I'm loving my weight sessions mixed with my boxing and eating a balance of all foods.. I'm appreciating my body so much more now. Since I've had this outlook I've noticed how much easier the journey has been for me and really enjoyed the process 💪

This is hard to write. I have so many emotions right now. I sit here listening to Magic School Bus {new}, rocking my 6mo old with my foot, and seeing my 3yo pay close attention to the TV. ALL WHILE feeling so disconnected with myself. Frumpy. Gross. Disgusting. Down right fucking ugly. And on top of ALL THIS I can't help but think "Would I feel this way if I had a baby girl or would I be better?" Boys honestly just don't give a fuck. They rough house, have huge emotions, are curious about their bodies, but could careless about taking a shower - which is only going to get worse when they become teenagers. So, would I be different? •••
I still teach them to respect their bodies, to give people space, and even if someone says it's ok to look or touch to NOT LOOK OR TOUCH & it is never ok unless it is your own body you are looking at & touching, or mommy+daddy because you have a booboo. And that it we'll talk more about this once they're older. So, how can I be so understanding of them but so hateful towards myself? I don't respect my body. I don't care for it. I treat it like utter garbage. I do not call myself beautiful, I think there was a few years I thought I was in gr.4 then I got bullied so that went out the window REAL FAST! And puberty hit so EVEN WORSE! When will this fucking end? Seriously. My husband looks at every curve, hair, freckle and thinks I'm a fucking goddess - seriously ladies it's pathetic how low I see myself when he can look at me and say "You know you're beautiful right?" @bthelifestyle no no I fucking don't! But I wish I did! ••••
