I didn’t diet to be healthy. I dieted to be skinny which to me equaled pretty which equaled happy.

I got to a double zero and wore a hoodie because I hated my body.

I was wrong.

I fell into the trap of diet culture and I didn’t know my way out so I preached what everyone expected me to at that size.

Workout, do cardio, eat protein, no excuses (have I mentioned how much I HATE that hashtag now?) and so on.

And then I hurt myself.

And my whole world stopped because I based it ALL in this insane journey of skinny = happy.

I had to stop lifting which triggered so many things to go wrong. I started to HATE the gym and I fell into a cycle of restricting so much more to makeup for the fact that I couldn’t workout. This led to binging and the guilt cycle never ended. But what did end was my double zero clothing size.

And what started was me being forced to heal. Inside and out. So here I am.

Not a double zero. A size 6.

And I’m telling you that diet culture is NOT the way. So let’s beat it together.

Let’s start with baby steps. Avoid using words such as “superfood” or “clean food” no food is a super food, some just has more vitamins. So let’s start with altering our language.

ZEICHEN UND WUNDER 🔮

Glaubst du an Zeichen? Ich...hm...ja irgendwie schon. Denn heute habe ich mal wieder ein dickes fettes Zeichen serviert bekommen. Alles fing damit an, dass es auf der Arbeit heute die ganze Zeit nur um Sport ging. Meiner einer Kollege hat erzählt, dass er schon vor der Arbeit im Fitnessstudio war, die andere berichtete, dass sie nach der Frühschicht direkt zum Sport geht. Und ich? Ich saß dazwischen, habe mir die Ohren zugehalten und laut LALALA gesungen.

Na gut, na gut, Leute, dann geh ich heute nach der Arbeit zum Yoga, ließ ich dann irgendwann großkotzig fallen. Hab ich das gerade wirklich laut gesagt? Wie blöd bin ich eigentlich? Auf dem nach Hauseweg habe ich mir die ganze Zeit Ausreden überlegt, warum ich auf keinen Fall zu dem Kurs gehen kann. Zu müde. Zu hungrig. Zu alles! Vor meiner Haustür angekommen überall Blaulicht. Krankenwagen und Notarzt. Damn - was ist passiert? Im Flur höre ich die Frau vom Hausmeister schluchzen - ein Sanitäter beruhigt sie. Ich gehe in meine Wohnung und werde ganz still.

Warum wehrst du dich so gegen Sport? Gegen Bewegung? Gegen das natürlichste Konzept für einen gesunden Körper? Serin, Sport machst du nicht, um jemandem etwas zu beweisen! Das machst du nur für dich allein! Für deinen Körper! Für deine Gesundheit! Damit du nicht irgendwann vom Krankenwagen abgeholt werden musst, weil dein Herz nicht mehr will!

Und ja, im Yogakurs wird es immer Menschen geben, die besser sind als du. Die durchtrainierter sind. Die fitter sind. Und? Sieh es doch einfach als Motivation. Denn heute hat es endlich Klick in deinem Kopf gemacht! Du willst für dich fit sein. Ganz allein für dich! Und nicht um deinen Kollegen morgen zu erzählen, dass sie dich jetzt Sporty Spice nennen dürfen.

I’ve come so far with my muscular strength in my upper body and the definition I’m achieving is making me so happy and proud of myself because I can remember where I started from.  Now I really want to get that definition in my triceps, and I know it will come eventually so I’m going to keep working hard until I reach my goals

Why do a mini cut? 
couple of you guys asked me yesterday why we were doing a mini cut even though we stayed relatively lean. Yes we stayed lean and that is the expectation in our improvement season. The more weight you gain during your improvement season the  more you have to take off during prep. You are  never going to gain more muscle by putting on more body fat.  You can think of a mini cut as the prep before the prep so you’re in a mini cut for about typically about about six weeks maybe less. The goal is to get in you lose a little pounds than go back in a surplus. Mini cuts are typically aggressive so they’re a lot lower than what you were normally start your prep with. But you’re in it for such a little amount of time that you will sacrifice little to no muscle loss. 
Than you can assess your physique  and go back into a surplus. This allows you more time to make changes to your physique. With the short amount of time in a deficit your less likely to have any metabolism adaptations. By doing it this way you’re starting your prep and you had that much less to lose so therefore prep is gonna be shorter, less extreme and hopefully you’re doing less cardio.
