I was pretty satisfied with where I was in September. Just shy of 1 year postpartum, I was feeling STRONG and healthy, and happy with my body with how it was performing. Then around the time I took that first picture, 3 important things happened:

1. I got my DNA report back with specific nutritional guidelines for ME. 
2. The #powercouple products were fully restocked.
3. I started using both. The DNA report, and the Power Couple products.

The results speak for themselves. I wasn’t trying to lose weight necessarily, I simply wanted to fight the sugar demon, and to better fuel my training sessions. Now my sugar demon is caged. My performance is up ( I’m competing in Strongman tomorrow!) Sleep is better. Recovery is better. Body composition is better. People had been telling me how lean I was looking, but  I felt lean back in September too. I gained 8lbs+ in the last 2 months which is a lot for me... and I haven’t been in the gym as much as normal.. its sort of taken a huge toll on me mentally & physically! I like to stay on top of my body.. and it also helps with stress, depression and anxiety. I have been grinding and just getting shit done recently. I’m 3 month post partum and let’s all just be real and admit that we all look amazing in high waisted leggings but deep deep down, some days we look and feel like a busted can of biscuits. 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s okay to be vulnerable and real. I’m squishy in spots I didn’t want to be ever but my baby likes to cuddle into them and that’s enough for me. Here’s to any women (or man!!) out there who is struggling, like me. I complain about my imperfections but the truth is I LOVE my body. 😍 It has carried, and given birth to beautiful babies, it has grown lots of muscle, and surprised me immensely with the weight it has carried both physically and emotionally. I was pretty satisfied with where I was in September. Just shy of 1 year postpartum, I was feeling STRONG and healthy, and happy with my body with how it was performing. Then around the time I took that first picture, 3 important things happened:

1. I got my DNA report back with specific nutritional guidelines for ME. 
2. The #powercouple products were fully restocked.
3. I started using both. The DNA report, and the Power Couple products.

The results speak for themselves. I wasn’t trying to lose weight necessarily, I simply wanted to fight the sugar demon, and to better fuel my training sessions. Now my sugar demon is caged. My performance is up ( I’m competing in Strongman tomorrow!) Sleep is better. Recovery is better. Body composition is better. People had been telling me how lean I was looking, but  I felt lean back in September too. I remember after having my baby I was so depressed.
And when you say that word people automatically think your depressed about your ENTIRE LIFE but that’s not it.
I was depressed inside, with myself, with how ugly and fat I felt.
Feeling completely unattractive, like I would be better off alone.
And actually believing that my partner would be better off with someone else....because I gained weight during pregnancy..
But man that was probably that hardest thing I will ever do.
Dealing with the emotional toils for month after month, watching yourself get HUGE and watching girls walk around in tiny shorts with normal sized boobs. While you look like a whale. Am I right?
Well coming home and looking at yourself naked after is kind of a fright at first...and man I cried and cried and the weight just kept falling off.

The photo on the left was taken August 2018. This was when I felt the strongest ever. I was working out consistently and very good with keeping my nutrition in check. The photo on the right was taken this week. It’s officially been 6 weeks after I gave birth to Teddy and I finally got my doctors clearance to workout (yay)! I’ve been told I would “bounce back” after giving birth. I haven’t really been doing anything differently. I have been breastfeeding every 2-3 hours and honestly it’s so hard to keep your nutrition in check when I really just wanna grab whatever food I can because I’m so hungry and thirsty! I still have my linea negra, definitely have a tummy and I feel really soft and watery everywhere BUT I feel so much stronger and empowered! I feel like someone who has been through war and has lived to tell her story.

It’s so wild to me at this time last year I was hoping my baby would be here any day and was anxiously approaching our due date (12/24)!⁣

I felt so beautiful pregnant and I feel even more beautiful after becoming a mom! I’ve heard lots of stories of babies destroying bodies and horrible pregnancies (my heart goes out to you, mammas) but that wasn’t my experience. I want it to be OK to also talk about good experiences as well as not so favorable ones.⁣

Not because my experience is better in any way or even more desirable but because I know that before I became a mom, I would’ve greatly appreciated it.⁣ I needed to hear more positive experiences and to you brave moms who did share their’s, thank you! I’m so grateful for you.

When I was newly postpartum I had to unfollow accounts where the snap back was real because I really didn’t believe that I would ever get back to where I was. Funny thing is, I looked at a clip of me the other day from four years ago and I’m actually in better shape now than I was and some periods of my life when I hadn’t had a baby!⁣
⁣
I’m so excited to go through this journey again knowing that I will come out on the other side not only stronger but more confident, happier and an even better version of myself.⁣

Every experience is different and I just hope that my journey helps anybody who is scared of what’s to come after they have a baby to know that it’s not all rainbows and sunshine but it’s mostly amazing.⁣

6 years later and still more connected than ever! 
For me, my son's dad and I's divorce shook me to my core. I never imagined it happening until it was the end. I never dreamed that the child we were creating would live in a "broken home". I never wanted that for my child. I always dreamed of the "white picket fence" type of life and whole heartedly believed I was capable of it. 
Unfortunately, because of many reasons; but this one I'll speak of, is that what I thought I could be was harder than I thought. I had stuffed so much trauma down and played the "I'm fine" game for so long, that it hit me once I was trying to manage all of that life. 
Children very rarely (I almost wanna say never...), save marriages. And in my case it hurt us harder, but I do know that this kid saved ME. HE shook me. And I know it changed his dad as well. 
Although my sons life hasn't been what I have dreamed for him, I do know that he will always be secure with the fact that I did everything in my power to do my best. Every day. 
He is loved by me and I by him and that's all I need in life 🥰

I’ve been eating (and drinking) a lot more than I “should” the last couple weeks. I’m giving 0 fucks. We live ONCE and I refuse to live my life punishing myself for not being my best at all times. #YOLO 
I choose to live in the moment. Make the best decisions I can MOST of the time while living my life 🙌🏼 You don’t have to exercise three hours a day and give up all the good foods. I got my sweat on and now I’m off to devour some Japanese food. 
It’s about balance. 
You just have to find the balance that works for you.

Friyay!! Hopefully you all had a great week. I took a few days off from the gym the beginning of this week and it was so good! All I can say is I came back stronger and energized. I am not a “post a picture of you wearing a sports bra” type girl. But I am SO proud of how far I’ve come. Two kids later & I proudly rock my mom bod. After having my daughter I never thought I would take the step to get back in shape but after finally taking that step to eat healthier and to get back into shape I gradually felt better about myself every day. At times I thought I would never lose the weight and get to be a happier, healthy me but it DOES NOT happen over night people!!! Do not rush your results!! Once you put in the time and effort I promise YOU WILL see results!

Getting to the gym was the simple part.. but the hardest part for me is eating correctly, getting enough calories, sticking to the healthier snacks and meals instead of eating what’s quick, simple but not the healthiest! Everyone has their days where we don’t eat the greatest but as long as you don’t stay on track it’s not gonna make your results go away!

I wake up every morning, sometimes very rushed to feed my these babes, get them clothed and out the door before 9am. I do this so I can get a workout in before the day.. I do this so I can be proud of myself before ALL those small moments during the day I get to be proud of them. I feel guilty some morning because my son wants to play with toys at home after breakfast... or he asks to not go. But the energy we all feel in the car, after an hour at the track... that energy is what it’s all about. Your children feel what you feel. The frustrating moments at home when your crawling around the floor cleaning up after them. The sluggish mornings that occurred because your bored out of your mind. ———-Leaving the mess in the mornings, to make myself feel AMAZING and returning to clean it in a happier mood is cracking the code. 💥 being an active mom and focusing on YOUR happiness is all around the best move to make. This year was a LOT of work and some days fast food was the only option. Life just happens and sometimes you can’t get to the gym much less eat the way you want to. I hope this reminds you to love who you are right now, but never forget you are worth your time too. ❤️

I cannot explain how thankful I am for this sweet boy! I woke up this more with another go around of mastitis. I came downstairs and told him I was going to need his help today and he has been the most helpful kid ever! He made me a card, made breakfast, has gotten them all snacks and been so helpful with his brothers and sister and Lola! He definitely goes above and beyond when i need help. I can’t believe he’s big enough to do all that he does! Even though he had to miss out on seeing his good friend Ely (which he was super upset about) he has helped me all day with a happy heart! #williamtheconquererrobert

Sure I knew I could exercise & change my eating, but I also told myself that I wouldn’t stick to it. That I’d work really hard at it for a month or two max (like I did 6 years prior), & then I’d give up because it wasn’t sustainable. ⁣

I watched other girls for months & months live the kind of life I wanted but didn’t think I could. 😭 that was hard. ⁣

Finally I decided enough was enough - I HAD to see what was so special about these “fit groups”. 🤪 I joined my first group February 2019 & found myself in a space where I had all the tools laid out in front of me. I had a plan that made sense & I wasn’t starving myself or counting calories. There was no looking back for me. ⁣

I’ve lost 55+ pounds & 4 pant sizes. 🥳⁣
So I take these kinds of pictures for ME, because I’m proud of how far I’ve come...the girl who had a goal of only losing 10 pounds because I didn’t think I’d actually do it 😭⁣

The magic is in the hard work we do but still having SO MUCH FUN. ⁣

I used to be 50 lbs heavier and no muscle or endurance. All that has changed. I still enjoy my wine and junk food but I work my butt off to balance it out a bit.⁣

I'll never be super thin. I mean look at the size of my legs for crying out loud! Them thangs are thiiiick! They'll never be sticks. But I'm ok with that.⁣

Nope.⁣ Happy with where I'm at and where I'm going. Yep.⁣ ⁣ I used to be 50 lbs heavier and no muscle or endurance. All that has changed. I still enjoy my wine and junk food but I work my butt off to balance it out a bit.⁣ ⁣ I'll never be super thin. I mean look at the size of my legs for crying out loud! Them thangs are thiiiick! They'll never be sticks. But I'm ok with that.⁣ ⁣ Feeling comfortable and happy at almost 37 years old and that's all that matters.

Had a blast doing a mixed martial arts inspired workout early this morning! 🤸🏼‍♂️

I have to leave for my shift early, so it was still dark.  But this one got me sweating and smiling😊!! Such a great feeling to start the day. .
I knew I wanted to get to a better place, mentally, and physically.  But, didn’t know what to do.  I had tried the gym, and really didn’t get anywhere... .
My coworker told me what she was doing, and it turned out to be EXACTLY what was looking for!

Here I am, three years later, busting out the next new program!! Giving 💯 every morning for 30 minutes!  And I’m in the shape I didn’t think was possible for me... at 48 and a mom to three! 💕

3 LOWER BODY EXERCISES I’M LOVING RIGHT NOW.

My workouts have been hit and miss lately but I sure feel good when I get them in even if I don’t always have a set plan.

Here are all my lower body exercises from today’s workout and ones I frequently add in to my routine.

FEET ELEVATED GLUTE BRIDGE WITH ABDUCTION. I use this many ways but today I did it ladder style. 8 bridges, 8 ABductions, then 7 of each, 6 of each, all the way down to one.

BULGARIAN SPLIT SQUAT. I love the glute emphasis with this variation and also how it requires a little flexibility. If I have been sitting a lot my body craves it.

HAMSTRING CURL WITH STABILITY BALL. I love this exercise to pieces and all the different variations you can do with it. I like adding exercises with no load.

Do you really hate gummi bears?
I really do.

How offen do you train abs?
3x a week I do a circuit I make up- 3 rounds of 5 moves.

What is your workout schedule?
M- Chest/Tris & Bike HIIT
T- Glutes & Abs
W- 30min Bike
R- Back/Bis/Shoulders & Abs
F- Leg/Glutes & BIKE Tabata
S- 30min Bike & Abs

What is your diet like?
I track macros. It was 💯 a game changer for me. I am currently getting a certification because I want to start macro coaching. Will be looking for beta testers to practice on soon!

Are there any foods you avoid?
Only gluten because I have an annoying intolerance. Otherwise, as long as it fits my macros I’m game. Generally speaking though, I make good choices.

Do you take any supplements?
Just protein powder- I use @promixnutrition.

Did you get stretch marks from pregnancies?
Not really, except a few faint white ones on my hips. I put coconut oil on my entire body after every shower. I think some of it is genetics, but pretty sure that helped prevent and fade any I did get.

Do you have loose skin from having kids?
Yes! You can’t avoid it.. but you can definitely tighten it up.

Did you have abs before having kids?
No

What time do you get up?
4am

Is the peloton worth it?
For me, yes! I work out at home, so I look at it as a gym membership. I also use it 4x a week, 🤷🏻‍♀️ so makes sense.

Do you ever go to a gym?
No.

What program are you currently doing?
I follow PWR by @sweat for upper body, but modify for at home —  @jaythegrind for lower body. Abs I come up with myself.

Is it possible to “get your body back” after babies?
YES- if you want it and are willing to work for it, of course you can!

Today I did back & biceps,  was suppose to do squats but my knee is killing me. This time lifting heavy didnt cause this pain lol it was that stupid treadmill and me thinking I'm speedy Gonzales🤣😭😭 oh well I need to take it easy for a while.🙄
