@PeterStefanovi2 Well, we're a banana republic, but at least those bananas are the correct shape! That'll show those SJWs!
@Kwia35 15 themes is a considerable amount of work. Another example of how some people devalue research and book knowledge.
RT @PictureBookDen: Chitra Sounder offers technical tips on how to edit your picture book texts without cutting down trees
@nckhnsn @themissusP @ChristabelCoops Better and easier to learn analytical skills via learning research skills in a properly resourced school library.
@ColeHeartedGirl @PulpLibrarian Ever since 24/7 kids TV became a thing, suddenly kids books had to start looking like TV show characters - originally it was the other way around.
@ThatTimWalker We deserve the hell this country has become. Perhaps in a few years the majority will feel motivated to work to fix it.
@ColeHeartedGirl @PulpLibrarian I'm not the only children's librarian who is absolutely sick of the generic saccharin churn from publishers these days :(
@PulpLibrarian Why the absolute fuck is there nothing like this for kids these days. Everything now is just flat colour and big heads, like some post-Nickelodeon wasteland.
RT @ByDonkeys: Hey @sainsburys @Halfords_uk @comparemkt_care @Now @KelloggsUKI and @TNLUK. You advertise on GBNews. Are you okay paying Nig…
@DapsDraws Just because people are making up stories about cuddly wuddly rabbits with inclusive undertones, it doesn't mean they're not able to behave like utter twats. The kid's book publishing industry is just as fully of BS and underhand tactics as any other.
@trpeal @PulpLibrarian @FBooksHatfield I've got a copy of Neuromancer in a similar style. My other copies of the books in the Sprawl series have less pulpy covers!
RT @jamiesmart: HUGE congratulations to THE PHOENIX (@phoenixcomicuk) on their 500th issue today! What an incredible achievement for a week…
@BlackBunik @CMValrak @Alfabusa Oh well - should never post on Twitter while also trying to work and not being able look everything up. My views on GW still stand!
@saskiawalker @RachelCDailey I probably should have. Admittedly, I'd been moved to better treatment that meant I was in a lot less pain than when I was first awarded my pass...
@CMValrak @Alfabusa As it stands, all GW are doing is creating bad blood between them and the community. Do they *really* think many of those TTS players will now go and spend £100s on their new minis? All they've done is seriously piss off some of their most loyal and vocal supporters.
@CMValrak @Alfabusa Is TTS affecting GW's bottom line? I doubt it. And if it is, then they should license their own official TTS and allow modding. Many people like me will *never* get into the GW TT scene, especially as adults, but still pay for books and licensed games.
@saskiawalker @RachelCDailey I had to do the 'hobble test' 5 years ago when I needed to re-apply to get my disabled person's freedom pass renewed. I clearly didn't hobble well enough because they turned me down, even with a hospital reference...
@ScottPughsley My library can lend a VHS video player, a walkman and a gameboy as examples of technology from history, and the teachers aren't allways familiar with all of them...
@EboueIsGod @alfie__innes Well, considering I can use punctuation and grammar and don't have to rely on emojis, I must have some education...
@GraceSandford @BeckaMoor A level art when I did it was appalling - you basically needed the art foundation course to undo a lot of that crap. Being told 'no illustration' should have given me the hint that I should have dropped it then and there. Or perhaps I was just at a bad college?
