There’s a lot of stuff going around on artists being screwed over by writers in comics and uhhh I’d like to point out how easy it is to treat your artists fairly in the Hollywood IP game, a thread (which I will probably live to regret):
Drawn a number of complex, abstract skylines today (it’s a thing) after a week of intense art-working. Hoping to say more about *undisclosed project™️ soon but until then here’s some abstract woods whilst I contemplate a G&T…
If you enjoyed Bumble & Snug & The Angry Pirates, please consider leaving it a rating or review. It’s massively helpful, *super* appreciated, and it really helps the book get noticed! Thank you!
@andicomics @JoshuaDysart I am 100% down for a law that gives every participant in a civil case access to the exact same resources---no more, no less. I can't believe we've collectively shrugged our shoulders at how huge corporations can just do wrong and then money their way out.
@andicomics @WGAWest @sfwa @MaryRobinette It would be incredibly valuable for me to just be able to pay a small monthly fee for entertainment contract lawyers to give me advice.
Hey, Writer's Guild of America, @WGAWest, it would really be game changer if you decided to start repping comic book creators. Huge amounts of the entertainment landscape are being built on their backs, and there's no union to protect them. We're media writers. Thank about it.
I'm of the opinion that the spirit of the royalty pool in my contract has been broken & that Shooter & Lapham should be the biggest recipients of money from that pool. I want to see everyone get paid, regardless of contractual legalities. Yeah, me too.
